Design Brief
Layer Design was commissioned by Spanish furniture brand Andreu World to design an iconic new collection of bar stools
Ideation
During the initial ideation phase, we focused on developing a story around each one of our concepts, giving them unique identities.
Inspiration
Our intent was to create a playfully modern and simple combination of elements. We understand the importance of simplicity. Within that framework, we designed an inspired objects that bring something new to the market.
Story
The initial idea behind the design came from the shape of a martini glass, creating a direct link to where this stool belongs.
Story
The name Hula comes from the footrest, which resembles a swiveling hula hoop, bringing a sense of fun and weightlessness
Award
In 2020, the Hula stool for Andreu World was awarded a German Design Award in the office furniture category.
